calm in the rush
Ahh... craziness! Why is our society so busy? I mean, can't we just go back to the log cabin days where it was friendships that mattered instead of personal prestige, where we had time to sit around the fire with someone playing the fiddle or telling stories? Finally I'm starting to regain control over my school work, and as I can now breathe I realize that while lots of things are important, nothing's worth stressing about (Jesus was a pretty smart guy!). And somehow, despite some wonderful, long phone talks that if I was being "responsible" would have been a couple hours shorter, everything still got done! And it's those talks which I'm going to remember, rather than the papers I wrote, though I'm realizing it's important to do my best at school too. So next time I'm stressing out, just remind me of this, will you?

meredith, you're always a calming presence in my life. you appear so easy-going and peaceful, even if in your heart/mind everything's helter-skelter. i will definitely remind you, but please keep my sense of sanity in your prayers as well. love you!
