Mundo muy pequeno (really little world)
When I was 7 my family visited Disney Land (yep, the famed camping trip of '93). I was just remembering one of the kiddy rides, which ventured through a mountain, where thousands (or so it seemed to me) of mechanical dolls representing the nations of the world were singing "It's A Small World After All." I'm remembering it because tonight I've found out just how tiny planet Earth really is! Through going to the evening service of a Church where old family friends from up North go & pastor, I was connected or reconnected with so many people! Whether it was the brother of one of my high school friends, or a high school classmate of my oldest sister, or a camp friend of some of my siblings, or my childhood friends that I had gone to visit knowing my other high school friends through University, or their family knowing my brother's girlfriend, or meeting my Discover intern's old Explore intern, it was crazy that out of just a few people that I talked to, I had so many random connections! I've heard it said that if you know something like one or two hundred people, you're statistically connected with everyone on the planet. Now I'm starting to see some sense in that! So, this makes me think... how many strangers are really complete strangers?

I guess the money spent on that Disneyland admission wasn't wasted after all! :)
mer, i love how your mind works, drawing us into the deeper things. in spite of seemingly 'shallow' and mundane appearances, you always dig up the profound.
