the tooth story

I've just been amazed this weekend, by a couple things both related to something I thought would be bad. It all started a few weeks ago when I visited the dentist and found I needed my wisdom teeth pulled. I was expecting it, but once the date was set it was a little more real. Now the bottom two will need a surgeon's work later on, but I stocked up jello and pudding for the fateful pulling of my top two ivories. So yesterday I bussed to the Dentist's (thanks to a friend I was able to catch my bus on time!) and was promptly ushered into the little cubicle (it even had two t.v.s in it - one being in the ceiling!). After all the poking and pulling and general messing around in my mouth, the teeth were out. But lo and behold, what to my wondering ears should I hear but that it wouldn't cost me a nickel! That's right, the dentist being a good friend of mine who I met at my ministry for international students, she talked to someone and they didn't charge me the hundreds of dollars that it would be! And then, on top of all that I haven't even swollen up or felt more than the slightest pain! I know teeth seem like a minor thing, but I'm sure this can be used as a metaphor for something, perhaps related to trust or generosity or God's compassion, but I'll let you ponder that one.
